Running a business is not always smooth and easy. It is a path less travelled by brave people, daring to go against the status quo.

My ride was no different.  I had lots of stops and starts along the way. I totally get where you’re at. I’ve been there and, in some degree, still am. We’re all reaching for something bigger than we’ve currently got. And that’s OK.

How to Move Forward

At some stage in this journey you realise that it’s smart to save your precious time and energy for the things you’re good at. It’s ok not to be an expert at everything. Nobody is.

So, what do you do with the rest?

As you can, you start to think about what things you could pass over to someone else to do. Someone with more skill in that area who can do it more successfully and in less time.  Makes sense, right?

I hope that by sharing my story, you’ll allow me to become a part of yours. You see, when your business succeeds, so does mine.

I once was a struggling bookkeeper with more time than clients. I knew I could do bookkeeping well but needed more people to do it for.

I even managed to get together a little pile of leads, but soon realised that I had no idea how to get more of them or how to convert any of them into paying clients. I was in the dark and had no money to pay someone else to do it for me.

So, I made it my mission to start learning everything I could about sales and marketing. Turns out I loved online marketing much more than I loved bookkeeping … and here I am today.

My biggest motivator has always been to be able to keep my kids in an environment where they feel safe and will thrive. For the three of us that means being able to function from home full time. So, I never miss out on the messy, the funny, the painful and all other bits in between.

I want to model for my kids that you can do and be anything you want to be. You can break the mould of society that says you have to go to a 9 – 5 and slave away for someone else who tells you when you can have a break and when you can have the downtime you need. I want to encourage them to be dream chasers and have the passion and drive to follow the things that light them up.

 

Self-Care = Self Love

 

I’ve learned that business can only grow as far as you can healthily support it. If you aren’t practicing self-care it will eventually implode on you. Grow your business yes … But take care of you too. Take rest breaks. Have me time. Life is busy, especially when you’re an entrepreneur.

These things I will never apologise for.  Taking care of me means I can take care of you my client, much better. I want to give you my best.

 

Treat Your Clients as You Would Like to Be Treated

 

Don’t treat clients like a pay cheque. They are people with struggles, dreams and goals just like me. Love on them, go the extra mile. I believe what you give out will come back to you.

 

A Little About Me

 

Avid Autism supporter with two amazing gifted kids of my own. (Not so little anymore but still full of needs and assistance) Brain diversity never ceases to amaze me. I’m always researching something new.

Always been a dog person but have surprisingly fallen in love with our cat Emma which I got for my kids. She’s got an amazing quirky personality and often is the subject of many laughs in my house due to her crazy antics. (Am keeping her even though I’ve discovered I’m allergic… lol)

Love to create – business ideas, websites, graphics, cards, photography, music and almost anything in between.

Often found laughing with my kids or going on photographic adventures with friends.

My idea of relaxing includes chilling out with a movie, visiting somewhere beautiful, cuppa with friends, creating something or board games and fun with my kids.
